  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Lin Rupeng, Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, stated in Guangzhou on the 7th that Guangdong has established 12 schools for Hong Kong and Macao students, with nearly 110,000 students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan enrolled in primary and secondary schools and kindergartens across the province. There are 76 universities qualified to enroll students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, with approximately 22,000 students from these regions enrolled in university.

  At a press conference on the "Achievements of Guangdong during the 14th Five-Year Plan" in education, Lin Rupeng stated that since the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan, Guangdong has continuously expanded its opening-up in education, deepened educational cooperation and exchanges within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and steadily increased Sino-foreign cooperative education programs and mainland-Hong Kong-Macao cooperative education programs. As of now, Guangdong has a total of 48 Sino-foreign cooperative education programs at the undergraduate and above levels. Three Macao universities, including the University of Macau, have received approval from the Ministry of Education to extend their operations in the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone. Sun Yat-sen University has established a research and teaching institution in Hong Kong, the first comprehensive research institution established by a mainland university in Hong Kong.

  According to reports, over the past five years, Guangdong has established a number of new research universities and universities jointly run by the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao, including Shenzhen Polytechnic University, Greater Bay Area University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan), bringing the total number of regular undergraduate universities in the province to 70.

  It is understood that Guangdong has promoted the "bringing in" and "going out" of education in the Greater Bay Area, initiating 22 "Lingnan Craftsman Academy" projects, and 35 vocational colleges have carried out 93 overseas education projects in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. In addition, Guangdong has built the "Study in China, Study in Guangdong" brand, with 105 universities in the province registered to enroll international students, and more than 20,000 international students currently studying in Guangdong.
