  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On May 9, 2026, Thai Deputy Foreign Minister Saleum Charonsuwan attended the 48th ASEAN Summit and related meetings in Cebu, Philippines, and participated in the bilateral meeting between Thai Prime Minister Anutin Chanvirakul and Philippine President Ferdinand Romúaldez Marcos.

  During the meeting, both sides focused on exploring feasible ways to deepen cooperation in food security and energy security. The Thai side expressed gratitude for the Philippine government's long-term support for Thai businesses and stated its willingness to increase rice supplies to the Philippines and further expand cooperation in the renewable energy sector. Both countries agreed to strengthen transnational crime prevention cooperation within the bilateral and ASEAN frameworks, with a focus on intensifying efforts to combat crimes such as online fraud.

  In addition, the two sides exchanged in-depth views and positions on several regional hotspots, including the situation in the Middle East, ASEAN energy security, and the Thai-Cambodian border situation.
