
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Recently, Daw Nuom Lhatsen, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and Culture of Myanmar, attended the ASEAN Traditional Textile Design Conservation and Promotion Management Seminar at the Novotel Yangon Max Hotel.
During the event, Deputy Minister Daw Nuom Lhatsen stated that in the current era of rapid technological development and the rise of industrialized production, traditional textile techniques such as pattern design and hand weaving are facing the risk of extinction. Therefore, the conservation and promotion management of traditional textile design is of great practical significance.

She pointed out that this seminar provided an important exchange platform for ASEAN member states, allowing them to showcase relevant national documents, share best practices in conservation and promotion, and jointly explore the challenges and solutions facing the conservation of traditional textiles. The textile industry is not only a source of cultural pride for people in various countries but also creates an important source of livelihood for local communities.
During the seminar, representatives from ASEAN member states also presented papers and conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as textile design, conservation, inheritance, and promotion management.
