
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Cambodian Ministry of National Defense spokesperson Mary Socheat announced that on February 26th at 10:00 AM, the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) assisted the ASEAN Observer Mission (AOT) in conducting an on-site investigation in the Preah Vihear Temple area of Chon Khesan District, Preah Vihear Province, to assess the implementation of the Cambodia-Thailand border ceasefire agreement.
The core objective of this investigation was to observe, verify, and assess the border situation after the ceasefire agreement takes effect on December 27, 2025. The observer mission will compile a formal report based on the on-site investigation results, systematically recording the progress and actual effectiveness of the ceasefire agreement's implementation.

According to the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense, since the ceasefire agreement took effect, Cambodia has consistently upheld a high degree of international responsibility, strictly adhering to and fully implementing the relevant agreement provisions, including the Joint Statement on the Cambodia-Thailand Peace Agreement signed on October 26, 2025, and the joint statement reached at the third special meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Committee on Border Affairs (GBC) on December 27, 2025.

The Cambodian government reiterated its commitment to upholding the spirit of all relevant agreements and its steadfast dedication to achieving a just, equitable, and lasting solution to the Cambodia-Thailand border issue within the framework of international law. At the same time, Cambodia explicitly stated its expectation that Thailand will act with equal sincerity and work with Cambodia to maintain existing consensus and ensure continued peace and stability in the border region.
