  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Labour Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government announced on the 13th that it had successfully matched 2,769 Macao residents with jobs in the first quarter of 2026, while the unemployment rate for Macao residents fell to 2.1%, the lowest level on record.

  The Labour Affairs Bureau held a press conference that day to release the latest employment data and introduce the effectiveness of the SAR government's employment support measures. The Bureau pointed out that with the implementation of a series of job matching and training support measures, Macao's employment market has remained stable.

  The Bureau explained that to help recent graduates and young people enhance their employment competitiveness, it has expanded the scale of the "Employment + Training" and internship programs in recent years. In 2025, 30 "Employment + Training" special programs were launched, with 346 people finding employment, and over 90% still employed. In 2026, more than 35 "Employment + Training" special programs will be launched, providing no fewer than 600 positions.

  In addition, the bureau will provide more internship opportunities for Macao youth in Macao and mainland China. In 2026, it will offer approximately 800 local internship positions across nine industries for Macao youth; and launch over 10 youth internship programs in mainland China, providing more than 200 internship positions covering fields such as healthcare, cultural and creative industries, conventions and exhibitions, film and television production, modern finance, and foreign language and trade.
