Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government held a press conference on the 12th, announcing that the “2026 Macao International Parade” will be held on March 29th. Multiple performance teams from home and abroad will showcase Macao's unique urban charm as a crossroads of the Maritime Silk Road through dazzling costumes, songs, and dances.

Acting Director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Zheng Jiming, stated at the press conference that this year's parade, themed “Maritime Silk Road, Cultural Encounters,” will kick off at the Ruins of St. Paul's, a Macao landmark. Led by the mascot “VIVA,” the various performance teams will traverse the old streets and alleys of Macao's historic city center, passing by Largo do Senado, Senado Square, and Avenida da Praia Grande, interacting closely with residents and tourists along the way. The final performance will take place at Sai Van Lake Square at 6:30 PM on the same day.

According to reports, this year's grand parade revolves around the theme of cultural encounters along the Maritime Silk Road. Ten out-of-town performance teams, all from key countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road, joined nearly 50 local Macao arts groups to present a spectacular cultural exchange feast.

Zheng Jiming stated that this year's parade has further refined its planning compared to previous years, aiming to create an immersive atmosphere where "scenery and art blend seamlessly, and the ancient and modern coexist," reflecting Macao's role as a "base for exchange and cooperation with Chinese culture as the mainstream and diverse cultures coexisting," and building a culturally rich and vibrant "Cultural Macao."

The International Parade of Lights is a significant cultural event in Macao. Since its inception in 2011, it has consistently used culture as a bridge to showcase Macao's unique charm of diversity and integration to the world. (End)
