Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) Against the backdrop of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and President To Lam's state visit to India from May 5th to 7th, which promoted the upgrading of bilateral relations to an "enhanced comprehensive strategic partnership," Nguyen Thanh Nghia, member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee, and Chairman of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee of the CPV, conducted intensive inter-party diplomacy in New Delhi, the Indian capital. He met separately with Dharasami Raja, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), and Arun Kumar, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), to solidify the foundation for deepening bilateral relations and strengthening party cooperation.

In his meeting with Dharasami Raja, General Secretary of the CPI, Nguyen Thanh Nghia first emphasized that the traditional friendship between the CPV and the CPI, forged over time, is a precious asset cultivated by successive leaders and peoples of both countries. He stated that Vietnam always remembers the unwavering support given by the CPI and the Indian people during Vietnam's struggle for national independence, as well as the valuable assistance provided in the current process of national construction and development. Nguyen Thanh Nghi briefed his counterpart on the core achievements of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam—the Congress clarified Vietnam's socio-economic development goals for 2026-2030, proposing a development vision of achieving double-digit annual economic growth, laying a strategic foundation for the country's century-long development. Combining the outcomes of General Secretary To Lam's state visit, Nguyen Thanh Nghi pointed out that the leaders of the two countries have reached a consensus to promote bilateral relations to a deeper level, with more concrete measures and a higher strategic height, in the spirit of "shared vision, strategic alignment, and pragmatic cooperation." He suggested that the two parties should further strengthen high-level delegation exchanges, deepen exchanges of party-building experience, and focus on strengthening the education and inheritance of the tradition of solidarity and friendship between the two parties among the younger generation, contributing the strength of political parties to the continued development of Vietnam-India relations and to world peace, fairness, democracy, and sustainable development.

Doraisami Raja expressed his highest respect to President Ho Chi Minh, extended sincere greetings to General Secretary To Lam and the leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State, and wished Vietnam continued success in its reform and opening-up and national development. He highly affirmed the contemporary value of the traditional friendship between Vietnam and India, believing that the upgrade of bilateral relations to an "enhanced comprehensive strategic partnership" will open up new opportunities for comprehensive cooperation in all fields, fully conforming to the core interests and strategic vision of both sides, and will also inject new impetus into regional cooperation.

That afternoon, Nguyen Thanh Nghia met with Arun Kumar, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Kumar first congratulated the successful conclusion of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and congratulated Comrade To Lam on his election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the State. He stated that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) closely follows Vietnam's development process, highly appreciates the remarkable achievements Vietnam has made in its nearly 40 years of reform and opening up, and firmly believes that Vietnam will smoothly achieve its development goals in the new era.

Nguyen Thanh Nghia highly recognized the important position and positive role of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Indian politics, and expressed his belief that under the leadership of General Secretary Marian Alexander Babi, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) will continue to exert its political influence and make important contributions to building a prosperous, stable, fair, and just India. Both sides agreed to continue deepening exchanges of experience between the two parties in areas such as governance, development, and construction, and to strengthen solidarity and cooperation. This will not only contribute to consolidating the traditional friendship between Vietnam and India, but also play a positive role in regional and global peace, stability, win-win cooperation, and sustainable development.

This inter-party meeting was an important accompanying activity of General Secretary To Lam's visit to India. It complements the cooperation agreements reached by the two countries' leaders in areas such as the $25 billion trade target (by 2030), defense and security, rare earth minerals, and digital payments. Through communication and coordination at the party level, it provides a solid political guarantee and public opinion foundation for the implementation of the enhanced comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India.
