Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On the morning of May 11, the second meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam was held, focusing on reviewing the National Assembly's report on public opinion work for March and April 2026. The meeting explicitly demanded that prominent issues repeatedly raised by voters, with widespread impact and involving the legitimate rights and interests of the masses, must be tracked and monitored until completely resolved.

Le Thi Nga, Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Public Opinion and Supervision Committee, pointed out in her report that the vast majority of voters and the people highly recognize the effectiveness of the Party and State's leadership, guidance, and regulation in socio-economic development—particularly in the proactive, flexible, and decisive actions taken to simultaneously promote economic growth, stabilize the macroeconomy, control inflation, strengthen the economic foundation, and ensure energy, currency, food security, and social order.

In the diplomatic arena, voters and the people highly appreciate and have full confidence in the country's diplomatic approach under the complex international situation. This approach has promoted Vietnam's proactive and in-depth integration into the international community and effectively safeguarded the country's core interests. Regarding the work of the National Assembly, the public fully affirmed the pragmatic and efficient reforms and improvements implemented by the 16th National Assembly, and expects the Assembly to continue this spirit, providing solid support for the realization of the nation's development vision in the new stage. They also warmly welcomed the achievements of the first session of the 16th National Assembly in reviewing and passing numerous draft laws, resolving practical difficulties, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people. Furthermore, the public paid close attention to the National Assembly's inclusion of the "implementation of laws and policies regarding the management and use of public assets such as office spaces after administrative division adjustments" in its special oversight program, believing this measure is of significant practical importance in assessing policy effectiveness, preventing waste of public assets, and properly handling issues left over from institutional streamlining.

Regarding government management and regulation, voters and the people recognized the government's decisive decision-making and timely responses in the governance process, and appreciated the continuity, stability, and consistency of its management work.

The report also pointed out that, in addition to acknowledging the achievements, the public still has concerns about areas directly affecting production and daily life, such as energy security, food safety, education quality, environmental pollution, cybersecurity, and the simplification of administrative procedures, and called on relevant functional departments to pay close attention and take more targeted and effective measures to address these issues in subsequent work. The members of the National Assembly Standing Committee generally agreed with the report's content and suggested that the National Ethnic Affairs Committee, the various special committees of the National Assembly, and the National Assembly delegations should further focus on their areas of responsibility and the scope of legal provisions, strengthen the targeted nature of their oversight work, and pay particular attention to hot issues of general concern to voters and the people. For prominent issues repeatedly raised by voters, they must follow up and supervise to the end to ensure that every matter receives a response and is resolved.

The meeting emphasized that listening to the voices of the people, understanding their opinions, and serving the people must be put into practice: responses to the people's demands must be timely and clear, and the handling of the people's suggestions must be "thorough and effective." Doing a good job in addressing the people's concerns is not only an important way to consolidate the people's trust in the Party, the State, the government, and the National Assembly, but also a key support for helping the National Assembly better fulfill its core responsibility of representing the will and aspirations of the people.
