Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On the morning of April 12th, the Party Committee and Command of the First Military Region of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam solemnly held a ceremony in Thai Nguyen Province to award the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces." To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President of the State, and Secretary of the Central Military Commission, personally attended the ceremony and, on behalf of the Party, the State, and the Central Military Commission, conferred this high honor upon the First Military Region, recognizing its outstanding contributions to the cause of national construction and defense over the past 80 years.

In his speech at the ceremony, To Lam pointed out that the First Military Region of North Vietnam occupies a special and important position in the history of the Vietnamese revolution. It is not only a strategic barrier in the northeast of the motherland and a stable revolutionary base, but also the cradle of the Vietnamese revolutionary armed forces. For more than 80 years, the armed forces of the Military Region have always adhered to the fine traditions and essence of "Uncle Ho's Army," maintaining a close bond with the people, and have won numerous high awards from the Party and the State for their brilliant achievements and outstanding contributions.

In light of the First Military Region's long border, complex terrain, and multi-ethnic population, Su Lin emphasized that hostile forces frequently exploit ethnic, religious, and human rights issues to instigate separatist and destructive activities, making the task of safeguarding border sovereignty and regional stability arduous. He demanded that the military region's armed forces proactively monitor the region's dynamics, accurately assess the situation, scientifically propose advisory suggestions, build an impregnable defense system, and promote the deep integration of national defense construction with security, diplomacy, and economic and social development, ensuring preparedness and preventing unforeseen events.

Regarding troop building, Su Lin clearly put forward four requirements: First, prioritize political construction, ensuring that all officers and soldiers are absolutely loyal to the Party, the motherland, and the people, and forging a highly competent force in accordance with the principles of "lean, streamlined, and strong" and the direction of revolutionization, standardization, elite formation, and modernization; second, enhance combat capabilities, rigorously improve the quality of training and exercises, and focus on strengthening command, mobility, and combat capabilities in border areas, remote areas, and areas inhabited by ethnic minorities; third, leverage diverse functions, continuously serving as a fighting force, a working force, and a production force, strengthening mass work and propaganda education, resolutely thwarting separatist and sabotage plots, and safeguarding the great unity of the entire nation; fourth, strengthen support and guarantees, do a good job in logistics, technology, and financial support, practice thrift, standardize equipment management, promote technological innovation and digital transformation, and enhance civil defense, search and rescue, and disaster and epidemic response capabilities. To Lam emphasized the need to focus on building a clean and powerful military region Party committee, setting an example in political, ideological, organizational, moral, and cadre development. He stressed the importance of strictly implementing the Central Committee's directives on Party building and rectification, deeply integrating into the study and practice of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and work style, resolutely preventing ideological degeneration and the risks of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation," and cultivating a cadre team with both integrity and ability, and outstanding prestige. He encouraged all officers and soldiers of the First Military Region to inherit the fine traditions of "loyalty, pioneering spirit, unity, and decisive victory," to concentrate their efforts on fulfilling the missions and tasks entrusted by the Party and the people, and to put into practice the lofty mission of being a "Hero of the People's Armed Forces," making greater contributions to defending Vietnam's socialist motherland and propelling the country towards a new stage of development characterized by prosperity, civilization, and happiness.
