Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) With the Lunar New Year of 2026 approaching, on the afternoon of February 4th, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security held a meeting to welcome former senior public security officials. General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee, To Lam, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. General Luong Sam Quang, member of the Politburo of the CPV Central Committee and Minister of Public Security, presided over the meeting.

In his speech, To Lam introduced the achievements of the 14th CPC National Congress, emphasizing three strategic goals for the new term: first, to maintain national stability and strengthen the defense of national sovereignty and territorial integrity; second, to promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, contributing to the achievement of the 2030 centenary goals under the Party's leadership and the 2045 centenary goals of national founding; and third, to continuously improve the people's living standards and ensure their basic needs are met and their well-being is achieved.

To Lam fully affirmed and commended the recent achievements of the People's Public Security Forces, pointing out that the public security system has made breakthrough progress in maintaining national security and ensuring social order, helping Vietnam maintain its leading position in global security and creating an excellent environment for attracting international investment and promoting tourism development. He mentioned that the public security forces are at the forefront of digital transformation, actively promoting the implementation of Proposal No. 06, and solidly carrying out national data management work, providing strong support for social governance and economic development. They have basically established a pure, strong, standardized, elite, and modernized people's public security force, effectively meeting the work requirements under the new circumstances and the deployment of Politburo Resolution No. 12.

Su Lin pointed out that the Central Public Security Party Committee and all public security forces have strictly implemented Politburo Resolution No. 18, setting an example in promoting the two-tiered local public security model; they have worked in concert with the military and foreign affairs departments to solidly carry out foreign affairs work and international integration-related tasks, contributing positively to maintaining regional and global security and resolving potential conflicts in hotspots.

Regarding the next steps, To Lam put forward clear requirements: The People's Police force must take the lead in implementing and vigorously promoting the spirit of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, accurately targeting work tasks, rapidly deploying resources, and rigorously implementing them, using the effectiveness of the Party and State's guiding principles as the measure of its performance; it must take initiative, prevent problems before they arise, deeply investigate the situation at the grassroots level, promptly identify and resolve various risks and hidden dangers, coordinate traditional and modern security work, closely integrate with the work of safeguarding the Party and the socialist system, and continuously promote crime governance and reduce the crime rate.

To fully unite the strength of retired cadres and contribute to the cause of building and defending the nation, To Lam hoped that generations of senior police officers would continue to play an exemplary role in their places of residence, working in unison with the entire Party, the people, and the army, fully utilizing their wisdom, experience, and key role to consolidate national unity, gather strength for progress, and strive to ensure the effective implementation of the goals of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, working towards building a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy socialist Vietnam by 2045.
