
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On January 19, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang met in Hanoi with non-resident ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary to attend the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV). The 14th CPV Congress, held in Hanoi from January 19 to 25, is a significant milestone in Vietnam's development.
Le Thi Thu Hang briefed the ambassadors on the congress, noting that it not only systematically summarized and assessed Vietnam's achievements over 40 years of reform and opening up, but also clarified the country's development direction for 2026-2030 and its long-term vision to 2045. She pointed out that after 40 years of reform and opening up and five years of implementing the resolutions of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam has achieved fruitful results: its GDP will reach US$514 billion in 2025, ranking 32nd in the world, with an average annual growth rate of 6.3% from 2021 to 2025; its Human Development Index has continued to improve, its sustainable poverty reduction goals have been steadily advanced, Vietnam has entered the ranks of middle-to-high-income countries, and the living standards of its people have continued to improve.
In the diplomatic field, Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized that Vietnam has always adhered to an independent, diversified, and multifaceted diplomatic approach, and is committed to becoming a trustworthy partner and a responsible member of the international community. Vietnam regards diplomacy and international integration as key tasks, continuously and comprehensively integrating into the international community, enhancing the effectiveness of multilateral diplomacy, actively participating in the resolution of regional and global issues, and earnestly fulfilling its international responsibilities.
Le Thi Thu Hang expressed her hope that the ambassadors would fully leverage their role as bridges and links to promote deeper cooperation between their respective countries and Vietnam in multiple fields—both consolidating political mutual trust and expanding economic and trade exchanges, actively exploring cooperation opportunities in emerging areas such as digital transformation, technological innovation, renewable energy, and green agriculture, while also promoting people-to-people exchanges and interactions to solidify the foundation of friendly cooperation.
The ambassadors highly praised Vietnam's historic achievements over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, expressed their appreciation for Vietnam's continuously rising international status and influence, and reiterated their strong commitment to friendly cooperative relations with Vietnam. The ambassadors unanimously expressed their willingness to further strengthen economic cooperation with Vietnam, promote the recovery of the tourism industry and enhance the quality and efficiency of people-to-people exchanges, and strive to deepen and solidify bilateral cooperation in multiple fields, contributing to regional peace, stability, and common development.
