Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On January 15th, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son led a working group to Khanh Hoa Province, Phan Lang Ward, to hold a working meeting with provincial leaders. The meeting focused on assessing the progress of the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant project and jointly developing specific measures to address difficulties and obstacles encountered during its implementation.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Vice Chairman Trinh Minh Hoang reported to the working group that the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 project requires a total land acquisition area of 449.37 hectares. Currently, the province has completed land surveys and source verification, and subsequent procedures are being strictly followed according to legal procedures.
Notably, the project has received positive responses and support from the local population. On the same day, the resettlement work for the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 project officially commenced, with a total investment exceeding 6.699 trillion VND. This initiative has created a positive social atmosphere and further strengthened public confidence in the Party and the State's commitment to this major national project.
The Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee stated that it will focus on fulfilling the tasks assigned by the government, efficiently utilizing the over 3.4 trillion VND in project funds allocated by the central government, and ensuring that all work proceeds in an orderly manner according to plan.
A representative of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) introduced that the group is working with partners to advance the preliminary preparations for the project and has put forward several targeted suggestions to ensure the orderly progress of project construction.
Regarding the "Resolution on Certain Special Mechanisms and Policies for the Investment and Construction of the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant" (Resolution No. 189/2025/QH15) passed by the National Assembly on February 19, 2025, representatives of relevant National Assembly agencies and ministries stated that a comprehensive assessment and review is currently underway, striving to submit it to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly for deliberation as soon as possible, optimizing and supplementing relevant clauses based on practical considerations, effectively protecting the rights and interests of the people, and improving the investment efficiency of the project.
In his concluding remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son pointed out that the National Assembly and the government have issued several important decisions regarding land acquisition compensation, resettlement of migrants, and special policy mechanisms, laying a solid foundation for the smooth implementation of the project. He urged all ministries, project owners, and Khanh Hoa province to further strengthen coordination and cooperation, take initiative, fulfill their responsibilities, strictly control project progress and quality, build social consensus, expedite land clearing and handover, and fully guarantee the smooth progress of the project.
