Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Upholding the spirit of "lightning speed in peacetime," the "Quang Trung Lightning Speed Campaign" is being carried out simultaneously and effectively in multiple locations in central Vietnam. The core objective of the campaign is to provide tangible assistance to hundreds of families affected by severe flooding, helping them obtain safe housing as soon as possible and ensuring a stable livelihood before the Lunar New Year of the Horse.
In Da Nang City, the campaign has entered its final sprint stage, with plans to complete the construction and renovation of over 500 housing units, covering residents in remote areas affected by the severe floods by the end of 2025. Following the principle of "the state and people working hand in hand, communities supporting each other," the political systems of Tra Tan, Tra Linh, Tra Leng, and Hung Son, among others, have fully committed to the housing reconstruction work.
After the disaster, local grassroots government organizations immediately conducted disaster assessments, implemented a system of cadre responsibility for specific areas, and directly supervised the entire process of housing construction and renovation. In addition to securing policy support from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Da Nang City Fatherland Front Committee, various localities actively mobilized social resources, organized voluntary labor, and prioritized the allocation of local building materials to expedite construction.
Specifically, in Tra Tan commune, 18 completely destroyed houses have been rebuilt in safe areas, effectively mitigating the risks of landslides and flash floods. In Tra Leng commune, 12 new houses were successfully completed with funding from the national budget, the Fatherland Front, and the "Charity Fund." During construction, on-site support was also provided by the 5th Regional Defense Command (Dien Bhan) and the 885th Regiment of the Da Nang City Military Command.
Despite facing multiple challenges, including severe weather, complex terrain, and difficulties in transporting building materials, cadres, soldiers, and local residents worked together, carrying cement, bricks, and roofing materials on their shoulders and backs to ensure timely completion of the projects. These scenes of "lightning-fast action in peacetime" deeply moved the people in the disaster area.
In Quang Ngai province, the provincial police department held a handover ceremony on January 6 for the first housing unit completed as part of the "Quang Trung Swift Operation." The beneficiary of this housing unit is the Dinh Thi Beng family from Tay commune, who suffered severe damage due to the remnants of Typhoon No. 13. Thanks to the emergency construction efforts of the provincial police department, commune police, mobile police, and local organizations, totaling over 200 working days, the project was completed ahead of schedule in just 21 days. The house is structurally sound, fully functional, and perfectly suited to local life and cultural customs. The total cost was approximately 110 million VND, funded jointly by the Ministry of Public Security, the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, and related units. It is understood that this housing unit is the first of 32 units planned for completion by the Quang Ngai Provincial Police Department in this operation, with the entire project expected to be completed by January 10, 2026.
The "Quang Trung Swift Operation" carried out in Da Nang, Quang Ngai, and other areas not only helped disaster-stricken people stabilize their homes before the Lunar New Year, but also vividly demonstrated the deep concern and sense of responsibility of the Vietnamese Party, State, and Armed Forces for the people's lives, laying a solid foundation for local post-disaster recovery, reconstruction, and sustainable development.
