
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the morning of January 1st, Quang Ninh Province welcomed its first cruise ship of 2026 at the Ha Long International Passenger Port in Bach Chay.
The Maltese-flagged "Clebrity Solstice," carrying 3,016 passengers primarily from the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, and Spain, docked at 10:30 AM on December 31, 2025, and is scheduled to depart Ha Long on the evening of January 1, 2026. The cruise ship departed from Thailand and will continue its journey to Hong Kong after leaving Quang Ninh.
At the welcoming ceremony, Quang Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Kuan Minh Cuong emphasized that Quang Ninh Province will strive to become one of the leading tourism centers in the country, and a gateway for regional and international tourism cooperation and connections. Quang Ninh's tourism industry is developing towards green growth and a circular economy, aiming to create a "four-season tourism" brand. Meanwhile, Quang Ninh province prioritizes planning tourism development space and simultaneously invests in infrastructure to strengthen connections within the province, across regions, nationally, and internationally, laying the foundation for attracting tourists, especially international tourists. Tourism has been identified as a leading economic sector, a driving force for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, and is integrated with the protection of cultural, historical, traditional, and ecological values, as well as environmental protection.
Sharing his impressions of Ha Long Bay, Alfonso Delgao, a tourist from Madrid, Spain, extended New Year's greetings to the Vietnamese people and expressed his deep impression of the warm welcome. The stunning scenery, fresh air, pleasant climate of Ha Long Bay, as well as the friendly people and abundant cuisine, left him with unforgettable memories. He said he would visit some tourist attractions and looked forward to the opportunity to visit Vietnam again.
By 2025, Quang Ninh is expected to receive over 60 cruise ship visits and more than 90,000 international tourists. Quang Ninh province received over 21 million tourists, exceeding its target, including 4.5 million international visitors. Thanks to a series of stimulus measures, new tourism products, and numerous cultural, sports, and culinary events, tourism revenue is projected to reach 57-58 trillion VND.
To achieve this goal, Quang Ninh province will continue to strengthen tourism promotion, expand markets, deepen international cooperation, and attract investment in high-quality, green, and sustainable tourism projects; expand its shipping network, develop maritime tourism routes, and host large-scale events; and support investors in accelerating and improving a number of high-quality tourism service projects, including the Van Don Monbay high-end tourism and resort complex, golf course and residential area project, and the Van Don Economic Zone high-end integrated tourism service area project.
