Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The National AIDS Prevention and Control Journalism Awards Ceremony was held on the evening of December 10th at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor and Culture Palace in Hanoi, Vietnam. The event was jointly organized by the *Health and Life* newspaper and the Department of Disease Prevention of the Ministry of Health.

This year's awards ceremony not only recognized the professional achievements of journalists but also paid tribute to those who, through their pens, cameras, voices, and hearts, convey trust and hope to the HIV/AIDS community.

At the awards ceremony, Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, Deputy Minister of Health of Vietnam, stated that this year's theme for the National AIDS Prevention and Control Action Month, set by the Ministry of Health, is "Unity is Strength, Working Together to End AIDS." This theme is not merely a slogan but a profound reminder that it is these core values that have fueled Vietnam's achievements over the past 35 years: the power of unity, close cooperation, shared responsibility, and close collaboration between individuals, communities, and society as a whole.

After 35 years of combating HIV/AIDS, Vietnam has achieved commendable results. HIV testing, infection prevention, and HIV/AIDS treatment programs have been implemented simultaneously and effectively.

The Deputy Minister of Health believes that in addition to medical teams directly providing care and treatment to AIDS patients, close support from journalists and reporters is also needed in the ideological sphere to help change society's perception of AIDS.

This year, the National AIDS Prevention and Control Journalism Awards were divided into three categories: written works, photographic works, and television works, with a total of 12 awards. Each category had one first prize, one second prize, one third prize, and one encouragement prize.

In this selection, the Vietnam News Agency had three winning entries. Among them, Dinh Thi Hang's work, "A Doctor's 'Unique Initiative' to Save HIV-Infected Children from the Hands of Death," won first prize; the Digital Content and Media Center's journalist team's work, "35 Years of Fighting AIDS—New Plans, New Journeys, New Concepts," won third prize; and VietnamPlus's work, "Working Together to End the AIDS Epidemic," won an encouragement prize.
