Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the morning of December 1, 2025, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Combat First Aid Level 1 Training Course, supported by France, was held at the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department under the Ministry of National Defense.

The training course, running from December 1st to 5th, aims to provide Vietnamese peacekeeping forces soon to be deployed individually to UN peacekeeping operations, as well as officers and personnel of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department involved in training and medical support, with battlefield first aid knowledge and skills compliant with UN requirements. This is the second time France has provided Level 1 combat first aid training support to the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Major General Pham Manh Thang, Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, expressed his gratitude to the French Defense Attaché Office in Vietnam and the French expert team for the facilitation provided in organizing this important training, and expressed his hope that France would continue to assist Vietnam in its future participation in UN peacekeeping operations.

Pham Manh Thang believes that, with the enthusiastic support, professional expertise, and rich knowledge and experience of French experts, Vietnamese trainees will master and accumulate the necessary battlefield first aid knowledge, skills, and experience, fully preparing them to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Ministry of National Defense and the United Nations to various peacekeeping missions.

Grand Colonel Anne Brun, French Defense Attaché to Vietnam, emphasized that the French Ministry of National Defense originally supported Vietnam's participation in UN peacekeeping operations, aiming to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation and demonstrate the increasingly pragmatic nature of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

This training will provide battlefield first aid knowledge in UN peacekeeping mission environments, including: basic principles of battlefield first aid, transferring the wounded in dangerous areas, treating life-threatening injuries, managing respiratory problems, monitoring respiratory status, battlefield first aid coordination; implementing frontline first aid, tactical first aid, and tactical evacuation first aid; and conducting practical exercises based on simulated scenarios.
