  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – A ceremony to mark the completion and handover of the Lao-Vietnamese Combat Alliance Monument renovation and upgrading project was held on November 28th in Xaisomboun Province, Laos, according to a report by the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Laos.

  This project holds sacred significance, symbolizing the enduring friendship and solidarity between the military and people of Vietnam and Laos. The project was constructed using grant funds provided by the Vietnamese government through a special working committee between the two governments. The Lao-Vietnamese Combat Alliance Monument is not only a cultural and historical highlight but also a vivid embodiment of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. The project also serves as a place for traditional education, fostering pride in future generations and contributing to the increasingly stable development of bilateral relations.

  The project renovated an area of ​​6,300 square meters and constructed a new park, walking paths, and other facilities covering an area of ​​2,000 square meters, increasing the total usable area to 8,300 square meters. The total cost of the project was US$1.39 million.

  Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Monekham Duongsachanh, Political Commissar of the Xaisomboun Provincial Military Command, stated that the Lao-Vietnamese Fighting Alliance Memorial Monument is a project of particular importance. Xaisomboun province will hold a ceremony here to repatriate the remains of Vietnamese volunteers and experts who sacrificed their lives in the province, as well as commemorative events to honor the heroic deeds of Lao-Vietnamese soldiers on important holidays of both parties, countries, and governments.

  Major General Monekham Duongsachanh emphasized that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, countries, governments, and peoples are unique in the world. Vietnam's assistance to Laos stems from genuine goodwill, like that of brothers bound by blood. He expressed his hope that both sides will continue to work together to protect and nurture the enduring and everlasting great friendship between Vietnam and Laos. (End)
