Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On the morning of November 18th, while attending National Unity Day activities in Gò Nổi commune, Da Nang City, Vietnamese President Luong Cuong visited and offered condolences to local residents affected by the floods.

He was accompanied by Bui Thi Minh Hoai, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Duc Hai, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; and leaders from various central ministries and Da Nang City.

President Luong Cuong, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, extended his sincere condolences to the people affected by the torrential rains and floods, and expressed his hope that the residents of Gò Nổi commune would unite and help each other to overcome the consequences of the floods. The President emphasized that the Party and the State will do everything possible to support the people, help local residents resume their lives and livelihoods as soon as possible, and allow students to return to school.

Recent continuous heavy rains have caused severe flooding in several areas in southern Da Nang City. Since October 2025, many areas have experienced their fourth to fifth floods, causing significant losses to local residents. Currently, water levels in rivers throughout Da Nang City are still rising rapidly. President Liang Quang urged local governments to continue their efforts at the grassroots level to provide maximum support to the people; relevant departments should quickly restore communications, transportation, electricity, and water supply, and ensure the supply of food, supplies, and medicine to residents in affected areas.

Previously, the President and his working delegation visited the Dien Ban Martyrs' Cemetery, the Heroic Nguyen Van Tuy Memorial Hall, and the Governor-General Hoang Dieu Memorial Hall to lay wreaths and offer incense, deeply mourning and expressing their highest respect for the martyrs and heroic mothers of Vietnam.

The Dien Ban Martyrs' Cemetery is a national-level cemetery, the final resting place of 5,620 martyrs, including the tombs of 37 revolutionary veterans and 125 heroic mothers of Vietnam, including the tomb of Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Thu, whose nine children, one son-in-law, and two grandchildren were all martyrs.

On this occasion, President Liang Quang visited and extended his regards to 105-year-old Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Dien of Baoan Village, Ky Noc Commune, and presented her with gifts. (End)
