Heavy rains and floods have killed 47 people in central Vietnam.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On November 5th local time, Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment released a report stating that the heavy rainfall and floods in central Vietnam have resulted in 47 deaths, 8 missing persons, and 130 injuries.

  According to reports from the Vietnam News Agency, Malaysia's *The Star*, and other media outlets, the report indicated that as of the morning of November 5th local time, 44,258 houses were flooded in various regions of central Vietnam, with another 108 houses destroyed or swept away, and 694 houses damaged. A total of 11,300 hectares of crops were flooded, 152,100 livestock and poultry died or were swept away by the floods, and a total of 67.7 kilometers of irrigation canals were damaged.

  The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment stated that the losses caused by the heavy rainfall and floods are still being tallied, and disaster relief and reconstruction efforts are being intensified.

  According to reports from the Associated Press and other media outlets, Vietnam has suffered a series of extreme weather events this year, causing significant economic losses and casualties. Since late October, heavy rainfall has triggered widespread flooding in central Vietnam, with many areas experiencing record-breaking rainfall and large swaths of land submerged. The Vietnamese government immediately launched disaster relief and reconstruction efforts.

  According to Channel News Asia in Singapore, Vietnam is prone to extreme weather events such as torrential rains from June to September each year.
