The second Vietnam-Cambodia border defense friendly exchange activity will be held in mid-November.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense held a press conference in Hanoi on November 5th, officially announcing that the second Vietnam-Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange Activity will be held from November 12th to 14th, 2025, in the border region between the two countries (Tay Ninh Province, Vietnam, and Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia).

  Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc, Director of the Propaganda and Education Department of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, stated at the press conference that this exchange is an important arrangement for the defense and foreign affairs of both countries' defense ministries and armed forces in 2025, following the successful inaugural event in 2022. He emphasized that the activity will further demonstrate the positive momentum of the traditional friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, and will help enhance political mutual trust and deepen pragmatic cooperation, particularly in border management, local cooperation, and people's livelihood development, jointly promoting the construction of a peaceful, friendly, stable, cooperative, and developing border.

  Senior Colonel Dang Thanh Minh, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, introduced the specific content of the exchange activity. On the Vietnamese side, the two sides will hold a welcoming ceremony with the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, plant friendship trees, conduct joint military medical exercises, inaugurate a boarding school in Thuan Lam Village, Binh Khoi Commune, Tay Ninh Province, establish friendly relations between border villages (Long Cuong Village, Vietnam, and Ota Mo Village, Cambodia), and hold talks between the defense ministers of the two countries and sign cooperation documents.

  On the Cambodian side, activities include a welcoming ceremony with the Vietnamese Minister of National Defense, a salute and repainting of border marker No. 171, joint border patrols, the launch ceremony of the friendship project at Svay Rieng Primary School, and a visit to the local gendarmerie headquarters.

  This exchange also includes preliminary activities, with joint medical services and medicine distribution to border residents by military doctors from both countries, and exchanges among young military officers. Thirty young officers each from the Cambodian Royal Army and the Vietnamese military and public security systems will participate in tree planting, sports exchanges, legal education, and cultural discussions.
