Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On March 7, Thai Justice Minister Tawee met with Hong Kong Secretary for Security Chris Tang and his delegation in the VIP reception room of the Thai Parliament Building.

Tang expressed his gratitude for Thailand's coordinating efforts in rescuing 48 Hong Kong victims who had been lured to Myanmar for telecommunications fraud, and paid tribute to all the staff involved in the rescue. He emphasized that Hong Kong is willing to cooperate closely with Thailand to ensure Thailand remains a safe tourist destination and jointly prevent more people from becoming victims of human trafficking.

Tawee stressed that the Thai government is determined to combat transnational crime, especially human trafficking, considering it a significant challenge for Thailand. He stated that Thailand will continue to coordinate with all parties to provide assistance to victims of crime in various countries and proposed establishing a joint Thai-Hong Kong working group to strengthen information sharing. Furthermore, Tawee suggested collecting information on victims who have returned to Hong Kong to trace the perpetrators and considering incorporating investigations into fund flows. In the future, the two sides may hold seminars to summarize experiences and strengthen efforts to combat transnational crime and rescue those involved in human trafficking.
