Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Fourth Session of the 14th National People's Congress passed a resolution on the Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development on December 12. On the same day, Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee stated that the Hong Kong Five-Year Plan Drafting Group, composed of various policy bureaus of the Hong Kong SAR Government, would expedite the drafting of the Hong Kong Five-Year Plan and complete the work within this year.

“We will construct a systematic policy framework to make more comprehensive, precise, and detailed strategic deployments for key development areas, and formulate the first Hong Kong Five-Year Plan with a macro-level, strategic, and forward-looking perspective,” said Lee. He added that he will lead the SAR Government to effectively fulfill its primary responsibility, uniting all sectors of society to actively cooperate and proactively align with the national 15th Five-Year Plan.

Lee pointed out that the Hong Kong Five-Year Plan is a common action plan for the Hong Kong SAR, outlining Hong Kong's development vision, core objectives, key areas, and major initiatives for the next five years, providing clear guidance for Hong Kong's socio-economic and livelihood development, and promoting Hong Kong's better integration into and service to the overall development of the nation.

A spokesperson for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government stated that Hong Kong possesses advantages in internal and external connectivity under the "One Country, Two Systems" principle and will fully leverage its international and market-oriented characteristics to promote interconnectivity with the mainland. The HKSAR government has established a "Special Task Force for Mainland Enterprises Going Global," working hand-in-hand with high-quality mainland enterprises to "go global" and "attract" international capital, thus solidly promoting high-quality economic development. Regarding the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the HKSAR government will actively participate in the construction of relevant platforms, continuously deepen the alignment of rules and mechanisms, and promote the convenient cross-border flow of innovative elements.
