  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Following the devastating fire at Hung Fook Court in Tai Po, Hong Kong on the 26th, various sectors of Hong Kong society responded swiftly, extending a helping hand to the affected residents through donations of money and supplies.

  Patriotic and Hong Kong-loving community organizations took the lead. Shi Ronghuai, President of the Hong Kong Beijing Community Federation, stated that the Federation will donate HK$5 million to support emergency fire relief efforts.

  The Hong Kong Fujian Community Federation stated that its special disaster relief fundraising has reached HK$20.21 million. Shi Qingliu, Chairman of the Hong Kong Fujian Community Federation, mentioned that post-disaster relief and reconstruction are arduous tasks, and they will fully support the disaster relief work of Chief Executive John Lee and the Hong Kong SAR government.

  The Hong Kong Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong Shantou Community Federation stated that they issued an emergency mobilization order late on the 26th, expressing their condolences to the fire victims and fallen firefighters, and extending their sympathies to the families of the victims and those affected. The Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce Charitable Fund allocated HK$500,000 to support the families of the victims and those affected by the fire, and established a volunteer team with the Shantou Community Federation to provide assistance to those in need.

  The Hong Kong Volunteer Alliance stated that it immediately launched a support operation, urgently raising an initial HK$5 million to establish an emergency support fund specifically for compensation to the families of fallen firefighters, financial assistance to the injured and deceased residents, and disaster relief.   Hong Kong businesses also generously donated to aid in disaster relief and resettlement. Sun Hung Kai Properties announced that the group will donate HK$20 million for emergency support, and its "Emperor" brand hotels will provide 160 rooms free of charge for emergency accommodation for disaster victims.

  Lenovo Hong Kong announced that it will donate HK$10 million for emergency rescue, supply of living materials, medical assistance, and follow-up work for affected residents.
