Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On January 21st, the Inauguration Ceremony of the Third Audiovisual Arts Professional Committee of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and a seminar on "Constructing a New Discourse for Popular Literature and Art Theory and Criticism" were held at the School of Arts and Media, Beijing Normal University. The event was hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Beijing Normal University, and the Third Audiovisual Arts Professional Committee of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
The meeting pointed out that audiovisual art, with its scene-based presentation and nationwide participation, is becoming a key component and core arena of new popular literature and art. With its unique appeal and influence, it is reshaping the public's aesthetic experience and carrying the important function of guiding value orientation. Literary and art criticism should shoulder the responsibility of "guiding creation, promoting high-quality works, improving aesthetics, and leading trends," playing a role in conveying mainstream values and building social consensus. Professional criticism needs to take the initiative to actively construct an independent Chinese discourse for audiovisual art criticism, promote the prosperity and development of new popular literature and art, better express the new era within scenes, and better meet the people's cultural needs and enhance their spiritual strength.
The meeting concluded that the Audiovisual Arts Professional Committee serves as a vital bridge and link between the China Association of Critics and Criticism (CACPC) and the vast number of audiovisual arts critics. It is a community united by shared academic pursuits, dedicated to guiding audiovisual arts critics to engage with contemporary issues, promote the integration of criticism and creation, leverage professional expertise to address contemporary challenges, and actively fulfill its responsibilities.
At the inauguration ceremony, the list of members for the third Audiovisual Arts Professional Committee of the CACPC was announced, and appointment letters were issued. A seminar on "The Construction of New Popular Literature and Art Theory and Criticism Discourse" was also held that day, focusing on audiovisual arts and other new popular literature and art, and exploring cutting-edge issues in practical development and theoretical innovation.
