  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 21st Hoi An-Japan Cultural Exchange Event is currently being held in Hoi An, Da Nang City, Vietnam. This event is an important opportunity for Vietnam and Japan to deepen cultural exchange and mutual learning, contributing to the protection and inheritance of traditional cultures in both countries, and promoting the continued dissemination and promotion of excellent cultural values ​​in modern life.

  Nguyen Thi Anh Thu, Vice Chairperson of the Da Nang City People's Committee, stated that Hoi An was a bustling international port in the 16th and 17th centuries, a unique symbol of the fusion and coexistence of Eastern and Western cultures, thus initiating the history of exchange and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan. After more than 20 years of continuous operation, the Hoi An-Japan Cultural Exchange Event has become a solid bridge of friendly communication between the two countries, making a positive contribution to enhancing mutual understanding, trust, and deep friendship between the people of Vietnam and Japan.

  The 21st Hoi An-Japan Cultural Exchange Event, to be held in 2025, has ushered in a new era of development and expansion. With Hoi An Ancient Town officially incorporated into Da Nang City, this event not only provides a new platform for cultural and artistic exchanges and the development of the cultural tourism industry between the two regions, but also opens up new opportunities for Hoi An and Da Nang City to deepen cooperation with partners and local cities in Japan and jointly promote economic development in this new stage of development.

  In his opening remarks, Mori Takero, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang City, stated that the Hoi An-Japan cultural exchange event is highly symbolic, vividly illustrating the long-standing historical exchanges between Japan and Vietnam. In 2023, Vietnam and Japan will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and bilateral relations have been upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Against this backdrop, the Hoi An-Japan cultural exchange event will further powerfully showcase and promote Hoi An's unique cultural value to the world.

  Truong Thi Ngoc Cam, Acting Deputy Director of the Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Center, introduced that this year's cultural exchange event will last for three days, from December 26th to 28th. During the event, Hoi An Ancient Town will transform into a grand gathering place for cultural exchange, featuring a variety of cultural activities including a Japanese traditional doll exhibition, Japanese traditional taiko drum performances, street art exchanges, traditional art displays, role-playing, calligraphy demonstrations, and Japanese tea ceremony experiences.
