Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – From the street stalls of Yongtai Food Street in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, to the warm, rustic atmosphere of Longgui Roasted Pork, and the refreshing sweetness of Jianggao Sweet Soup Street… 61 Baiyun-themed cartoons created by cartoonist Lin Diwan (Xiao Lin) were exhibited on the 31st at the Design Capital in Baiyun District, Guangzhou.

On the same day, the launch of the new book "This is Baiyun," compiled by the Baiyun District Publicity Department and published by Guangzhou Publishing House, and a special exhibition of Xiao Lin's Baiyun cartoons were held. The event centered on Xiao Lin's 61 Baiyun-themed cartoons, using prose-like strokes to connect the natural beauty, cultural heritage, industrial vitality, and everyday warmth of Baiyun, showcasing the region's cultural charm while injecting a rich cultural atmosphere into the upcoming 15th National Games.

At the event, the Xiao Lin Baiyun cartoon exhibition presented all 61 original Baiyun-themed cartoons. With a humorous and delicate touch, Xiaolin captures the natural beauty, culture, and everyday life of Baiyun District within the pages of her artwork, allowing the audience to experience the unique warmth and sentiment of Baiyun with a knowing smile. Notably, several of the comics presented at the event were rendered in 3D, making each scene seem to step out of the picture, creating a truly immersive experience.

The book "This is Baiyun" was also launched at the event. Carefully selected 61 of the most representative local features from four dimensions—nature, history, industry, and culture—and presented Baiyun District's rich cultural heritage as the central urban area of Guangzhou in an innovative three-dimensional format of "text + comics + photographs." The book reveals the poetic beauty of the landscape, the bustling city life, and looks towards the future of industry, making it a vivid encyclopedia for "understanding Baiyun."

The reporter learned that "This is Baiyun" uses "First Encounter with Baiyun" and "Long-Term Resonance" as its narrative threads, constructing a multi-dimensional cultural map of Baiyun through four chapters: "Clouds and Mountains," "People and Culture," "Future," and "Life's Flavors."

The "Clouds and Mountains" section focuses on the ecological endowment of "two mountains, two lakes, one river, and one canal." Xiaolin's illustrations of Baiyun Mountain's morning mist, Maofeng Mountain's forests, and Nanhu Lake together paint a natural ecological picture. The "Blue Tears" secret realm of Liupian Mountain, accompanied by the poetic caption "The Blue Tears of Liupian Mountain are hidden deep in Baiyun," is captivating.

The "People and Culture" section is a time capsule of a thousand-year-old cultural heritage. The mottled red walls of the Sanyuanli Ancient Temple and the architectural reflection of the Lingnan Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum are revitalized in the comics. Ancient banyan trees stand strong, and ancient cannons stand silently, telling a story of passionate memories.

During the book launch, Xiaolin shared her creative journey of in-depth research in Baiyun. From traversing the "two mountains, two lakes, one river, and one canal," visiting ancient villages and temples, chatting with food vendors, and recording the vitality of industrial parks, each comic is imbued with meticulous observation and deep affection for Baiyun.

A relevant official from the Publicity Department of Baiyun District Committee stated that the exhibition will run until the end of November, after which it is planned to tour other locations. (End)
