Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) reports that the Lao National News Agency (KPL)'s column "Alternative Solutions - Safe Escape Routes" has once again launched a special report, focusing on Laos' road traffic safety awareness campaign. This issue focuses on Vientiane Province, providing in-depth coverage of a joint road safety awareness campaign conducted by multiple local departments.

Under the coordination of Mr. Anon Inthavong, Head of the Traffic Section of the Vientiane Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport, staff from relevant provincial departments, school teachers, and student representatives gathered at Pakayong Middle School in Viengkham District and Banken Middle School in Thu Lakhon District, Vientiane City, to jointly conduct road safety education activities, effectively improving the traffic safety literacy of young people and the general public.

Mr. Anon Inthavong stated that this road safety awareness campaign aims to further enhance the road traffic safety awareness of young people and the general public in Vientiane Province, guide the public to recognize and abide by road traffic regulations, understand the meaning, importance, and usage of various traffic signs, and master accident victim assessment and basic life-saving skills, thereby preventing and reducing road traffic accidents from the source.

During the event, staff from relevant provincial departments distributed road safety brochures to teachers, students, and the public. The brochures covered topics such as traffic law enforcement, the use of traffic signs, regulations of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, on-site assessment of the injured, and basic life support knowledge. Professional trainers from the Traffic Safety Bureau, the Provincial Public Security Bureau's traffic department, the Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, and the Vientiane Red Cross Rescue Team provided detailed explanations based on their extensive experience.

At the end of the event, the organizers held interactive Q&A sessions at two schools, engaging students in discussions on traffic rules, the use of traffic signs, the identification of warning and prohibitory signs, and other traffic management regulations. Prizes were awarded to students who participated, effectively enhancing the fun and effectiveness of the educational campaign.

In addition, the column is open to submissions from the public. Readers with insights on road traffic accident prevention and safe travel can submit news articles to the editorial department of the *Lao Newspaper*. Selected articles will be published and promoted to help popularize road traffic safety knowledge to the whole society in diverse forms, jointly creating a safe and civilized travel environment.
