Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – At approximately 5:00 AM on the 3rd, the Regatta, a cruise ship belonging to Oceania Cruises, arrived from South Korea and slowly docked at Tianjin International Cruise Home Port. Coinciding with the traditional Chinese Lantern Festival, the nearly 600 passengers on board, from over 20 countries and regions including the United States, Canada, and Australia, will embark on a two-day, one-night "New Year's Journey" in Tianjin.
The Regatta is the first international cruise ship to visit Tianjin Port this year, and also the first luxury cruise ship to visit northern China in the Year of the Horse. The ship has a gross tonnage of 30,300 tons, a length of 180 meters, and a maximum passenger capacity of 777.
During this docking time, coinciding with the Lantern Festival, foreign passengers will visit the Huangyaguan Great Wall, Ancient Culture Street, Five Avenues, Jingyuan Garden, and other places to experience traditional Chinese festival customs and feel the city's unique charm of "river and sea."
“Customs clearance was very quick, and we had plenty of time to visit the Great Wall,” said Ursula Lindelsbach, a tourist from Switzerland. Levin Gale Witt, a tourist from the United States, said he looked forward to a relaxing Citywalk in Tianjin and sampling local cuisine.
In recent years, with the continuous expansion of its visa-free travel network, Tianjin, leveraging its geographical advantages and rich cultural heritage, has attracted an increasing number of foreign tourists to choose cruise ships as their mode of transport for their trips to China. Data shows that since 2026, Tianjin's cruise port has received over 20 cruise ships and nearly 40,000 passengers; among them, nearly 600 were from Europe and America, an increase of more than seven times compared to the same period last year.
