  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On March 12, 2026, Chettapan Maksamphan, Permanent Secretary of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired a preparatory meeting for a special project. The meeting's theme was "Thailand's Efforts to Strengthen ASEAN Coordination and Tabletop Exercises in Disaster Management." More than 40 representatives from relevant Thai agencies, including the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Public Health, as well as state-owned enterprises, attended the meeting.

  It is understood that the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior will jointly host a special meeting from March 26 to 27, 2026, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chaina Province. The core objective of this special meeting is to strengthen communication, understanding, and coordination among relevant Thai agencies, countries, and relevant regional and international organizations in disaster relief response within the ASEAN region.

  At the preparatory meeting, the Thai Deputy Permanent Secretary emphasized Thailand's high regard for strengthening regional disaster management capabilities and improving disaster response levels. Participants also engaged in in-depth discussions on how to improve the effectiveness of disaster relief work in the ASEAN region, laying a solid foundation for the successful convening of the subsequent special meeting.
