
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On January 22, 2026, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the International Organizations Department of Thailand, chaired a special preparatory meeting to coordinate relevant Thai institutions and prepare for the upcoming 82nd Session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

This preparatory meeting focused on in-depth discussions on deepening cooperation between Thailand and ESCAP and its member and associate member countries, building consensus, clarifying key areas of collaboration, and laying a solid foundation for efficient cooperation. The meeting also comprehensively reviewed and meticulously prepared Thailand's position on participating in the 82nd ESCAP session, ensuring accurate communication of Thailand's demands and active participation in the meeting agenda.

It is understood that the 82nd ESCAP session will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from April 20 to 24, 2026, with the theme "Leaving No One Behind: Advancing Society for All in the Asia-Pacific Region". As the largest of the five regional commissions of the United Nations, the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) has been hosted by Thailand since 1949. This 82nd session will be the first time in 16 years that the conference has been held outside of Thailand, which is of great significance for regional cooperation.
