Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On January 6, 2026, Mr. Chuwat Narintrankula, Director General of the Thai Agency for International Cooperation (TICA), met with Associate Professor Dr. Nopranu Sajaraks Dilatithiti, Vice President for Global Cooperation and member of the University Council of Mahidol University, at the agency's premises. The two sides held in-depth discussions on deepening cooperation.

The core issue of this meeting was the implementation of specific arrangements for various activities under the "Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening the Thailand Capacity Building Center" signed between TICA and Mahidol University in 2026. According to the memorandum, the two sides will jointly establish the "Thailand Capacity Building Center," focusing on promoting knowledge transfer and expert exchange between Mahidol University and international institutions in multiple fields such as health sciences, technology, and humanities and social sciences.

The core objective of this cooperative project is to strengthen Thailand's local medical resources and extend their reach to neighboring developing countries, particularly focusing on Samoa and Tonga in the South Pacific region. By establishing a professional exchange platform to support the development of the healthcare sector in the region, this cooperation mechanism will also become an important tool for Thailand to advance medical diplomacy and further enhance Thailand's influence in regional health cooperation.
