Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On December 17, 2025, His Excellency Sihasak Puangkchou, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and His Excellency Cecilia Zunilda Galarreta Bazan, Ambassador of Peru to Thailand, jointly presided over the opening ceremony of the "Friendship in a Frame: A Photo Exhibition Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Thai-Peru Diplomatic Relations," celebrating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Minister Sihasak Puangkchou pointed out that this photo exhibition, visually capturing the 60-year friendship between the two countries, is of profound significance. One of the core highlights of the exhibition is the display of documentary photographs taken during Her Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's official visit to Peru in 2019. He reiterated Thailand's commitment to comprehensively enhancing its partnership with Peru, particularly by promoting the early conclusion of a comprehensive Thai-Peru Free Trade Agreement to expand bilateral trade and investment opportunities; and by leveraging cultural diplomacy to deepen technological cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Since establishing diplomatic relations on November 10, 1965, Thailand and Peru have maintained close and friendly bilateral ties, and 2025 marks the important milestone of the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. Currently, Peru is Thailand's fifth largest trading partner in Latin America. Cooperation between the two countries in trade, investment, technology, culture, and multilateral forums has continued to deepen, yielding mutually beneficial and pragmatic results. This has created more opportunities for the development of the private sector and the well-being of the people in both countries, laying a solid foundation for advancing a sustainable bilateral partnership.

It is worth mentioning that at the International Conference on Global Partnership to Combat Cyber Fraud, Peru, along with four other countries and a private organization, jointly launched the "Joint Statement on the Bangkok Global Partnership to Combat Cyber Fraud 2025." This initiative fully demonstrates Peru's and Thailand's firm commitment to working together to address global cyber fraud and cyber threats.
