Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – In response to the ongoing severe flooding in southern Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has officially activated its Tourism Crisis Monitoring Center (TCMC) as the core hub for enhanced national emergency measures. The center will coordinate tourist assistance efforts, assess the impact of the disaster on the tourism industry, and continuously release verified travel updates to provide targeted support to all parties.

TAT Governor Thapane Kiatpaipur stated, “We deeply understand the concerns and uncertainties faced by tourists. Our current priority is to provide clear information and coordinated support. The TAT is working closely with relevant departments and tourism partners to ensure tourists receive the latest guidance and assistance in real time. We will always maintain transparent communication and do everything we can to ensure tourists' safety during this crisis.”

Due to continuous rainfall, several provinces in southern Thailand, including Songkhla, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Trang, Satun, Surat Thani, Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat, have experienced flooding. Hat Yai in Songkhla province is the most severely affected, with some roads blocked, causing traffic paralysis and preventing many tourists from evacuating.

Currently, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TCMC) has activated an inter-departmental coordination mechanism, uniting embassies and consulates in Thailand, travel agencies, and local governments to focus on providing assistance to stranded travelers. Specific measures include arranging safe transfer vehicles to move travelers from affected hotels to designated shelters, and simultaneously updating the list of stranded travelers through diplomatic channels to ensure accurate and efficient assistance.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is also continuously releasing verified local travel information to provide travelers with guidance on adjusting their itineraries and to keep tourism operators informed of the disaster situation and support policies. Once the situation stabilizes, the TAT will comprehensively assess the impact of the disaster on the tourism industry and prioritize the safe and sustainable recovery of affected destinations.

Travelers seeking the latest disaster information or emergency assistance can contact the TAT's Travel Buddy call center at 1672 or the Tourist Police hotline at 1155.
