2025 Chao Phraya Festival Opens in Bangkok: A Tribute to Queen Sirikit with Light and Shadow, Creating a World-Class Cre

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the evening of November 9th, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in conjunction with public and private sector partners, officially launched the 2025 Chao Phraya Festival (Vijit Chao Phraya 2025) along the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. The event, themed "Light of Siam – Mother Earth," aims to commemorate the benevolent spirit and enduring legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit.

  Minister of Tourism and Sports, Attakorn Siriratayakorn, presided over the opening ceremony and stated that the 45-day 2025 Chao Phraya Festival is a world-class event that will inject new vitality into Thailand's tourism industry. As night fell, a spectacular performance blending art, music, and technology officially commenced on the shimmering Chao Phraya River, showcasing the creative charm of the Thai spirit.

  Atakorn Siriratayakorn emphasized, “This event is of great significance in elevating Thailand’s tourism industry and helping it join the ranks of world-class events. It will also effectively revitalize the economic cycle, creating revenue opportunities for local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and riverside communities. Furthermore, the event will solidify Bangkok’s status as a world-class creative tourism city, providing visitors with unforgettable experiences and a unique sense of place.” Thapane Kittappur, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, added that the 2025 Chao Phraya Festival pays homage to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, whose compassion and elegance have always inspired the Thai people. The event will transform bridges, temples, historical sites, and modern landmarks into a cultural feast of light and sound, celebrating the beauty of the coexistence of tradition and innovation, while also boosting Thailand’s nighttime economy and enhancing the visitor experience during peak season.

  The grand opening ceremony kicked off a 45-night light show, running from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM nightly until December 23. The event covers 15 iconic landmarks along the Chao Phraya River, transforming them into a corridor radiant with art and emotion—extending from the majestic Rama VIII Bridge to the creatively designed Rama III Bridge.

  Highlights of this grand event include: "Royal Mercy" and "The Flow of Rama VIII" at the Rama VIII Bridge; "Chao Phraya Rhapsody" at Nagaraphirong Park; "Dawn of Siam" at Wat Arun; and "Lines of Glory" with a spectacular drone show over the Yopha Bridge (Memorial Bridge). Visitors can also enjoy "Thailand Light Symphony," "Important Multimedia Water Features," and the "Crystal of Life" art installation by Bangkok Pier Ltd. at ICONSIAM.   The event is expected to attract approximately 1.5 million visitors, generating over 6.2 billion baht in economic value. Data shows that from January 1st to November 2nd, 2025, Thailand received over 26.9 million international tourists, and visitor numbers are expected to continue to grow until the end of the year.
