The Thai military will release 18 Cambodian soldiers on November 12.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to Thai media Khaosod on the afternoon of November 6th, the Thai military plans to release 18 detained Cambodian soldiers on November 12th and repatriate them through the Ban Pak Ka border crossing in Chanthaburi province (opposite to the Cambodian Pailin border crossing).

  It is worth noting that the aforementioned 18 Cambodian soldiers were illegally detained by the Thai military on the morning of July 29th. This incident occurred the day after Cambodia and Thailand reached a ceasefire agreement.

  This release is intended to fulfill Article 5 of the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Declaration on Peace signed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 26th of this year. This joint declaration, signed by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thai Prime Minister Anutin, aims to resolve the border dispute between the two countries and promote the peace process.
