Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is concluding a technical study tour for its overseas market team, showcasing its upcoming “Blue Jasmine Luxury Rail Tour” to the public for the first time. The tour, which will take place from July 22nd to 24th, 2025, will be attended by 39 representatives from TAT’s Europe and Americas offices, following the agency’s annual planning meeting in Bangkok.
The delegation, led by Ms. Chiravadee Khunsub, Deputy Governor in charge of International Marketing (Europe, Africa, Middle East and Americas), Ms. Malinee Nitikasetsunthorn, Executive Director for the Americas, Middle East and Africa, and Ms. Suladda Sarutilavan, Executive Director for Europe, was warmly welcomed by the DTH Travel team, including CEO Mr. Stephan Roemer and General Manager of DTH Travel Thailand Mr. Stefan Bruns.
Ms. Chiravadee stated that the three-day journey is both a product experience and a strategic exchange, allowing participants to experience firsthand a new premium rail experience designed to support high-value tourism. This journey also fostered in-depth exchanges with local operators, providing valuable insights for shaping future long-haul market products.
Ms. Chiravadee stated, “This initiative aligns with the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s ‘New Thailand’ strategy, which aims to elevate the quality of tourism and build deeper emotional connections through transformative travel. By providing authentic experiences for our international teams, we are committed to creating a new narrative showcasing Thailand’s enduring charm and forward-thinking potential.”
The pilot route, titled “Blue Jasmine: A Journey Through Thailand’s Timeless Railway,” highlighted three historic World Heritage cities—Ayutthaya, Uthai Thani, and Sisatchanalai in Sukhothai—and introduced participants to Thailand’s rich cultural heritage through a series of carefully curated cultural experiences.
The delegation departed from Bangkok’s iconic Hua Lamphong Railway Station aboard the meticulously restored Blue Jasmine train, featuring private cabins, panoramic lounges, and local culinary delights. Along the way, participants engaged in a variety of immersive activities, including almsgiving on the banks of the Sakhalin River, visits to the Crystal Temple and the opulent Wat Tha Sung, home to the magnificent Prasat Thong Kham, and enjoying traditional dance performances along the Yom River. The trip concluded with participants experiencing Sangkhalok pottery making and Thai silk weaving, celebrating Thailand's vibrant heritage.
This itinerary previewed the upcoming "Blue Jasmine Railway Journey," a nine-day journey scheduled to launch from November 16th to 24th, 2025. Developed by DTH Travel, the route will connect five destinations—Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Uthai Thani, Sukhothai, and Chiang Mai—via a restored 1956 Japanese sleeper train. Additional services are planned for 2026, departing in January, February, March, July, November, and December.
