Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Statistics released by the Liantang Border Inspection Station of the Shenzhen General Station of Immigration Inspection on March 6th show that as of March 5th, over 4 million people had used the smart clearance system at the Liantang Port, with a peak of nearly 40,000 people in a single day. Smart clearance has become a crucial support for the efficient operation of the Liantang Port.
It is understood that since the National Immigration Administration implemented 10 innovative measures to support high-quality services on November 5th, 2025, the "face-scanning" smart clearance system at the Shenzhen Liantang Port has been in use for four months.
As an important channel serving cross-border travel between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, the Liantang Port was planned with a smart inspection system in mind from the outset. Relying on technologies such as facial recognition, biometric comparison, and big data analysis, the station has comprehensively upgraded its fast lanes, implemented a smart clearance model, and simultaneously enabled passengers to "swipe their documents and pass through, or scan their faces and pass through," significantly shortening individual clearance time and improving overall efficiency.
Data shows that since the implementation of the smart customs clearance system, the Liantang Port's smart fast-track channel has operated smoothly and stably, with a continuously increasing passenger choice. Currently, over 50% of passengers using the smart clearance system at this port handle daily traffic, especially during peak travel periods such as commuting hours, holidays, and weekends. The advantages of "face-scanning fast passage" are even more pronounced, resulting in orderly customs clearance and significantly improved efficiency.
"I frequently travel between Shenzhen and Hong Kong for business. Since I don't need to show my documents for customs clearance, I can catch my train much faster. Especially after the e-channel in Hong Kong provided convenience for commuters like us, I can even run to catch the bus," said Mr. Liao, a sales representative from Bloomage Biotechnology.
While improving efficiency, the Liantang Border Inspection Station adheres to a dual focus on "technology + service." By scientifically analyzing passenger flow trends, dynamically adjusting police deployment and the number of open channels, and strengthening on-site guidance and consultation services, the station ensures that smart channel inspection and manual inspection operate in tandem, achieving "human-machine collaboration and precise protection."
The Liantang Border Inspection Station stated that it will continuously expand the application scenarios of intelligent customs clearance, optimize system functions and service processes, and improve the level of port clearance facilitation, providing more efficient, safe, and convenient customs clearance guarantees for economic and trade exchanges and personnel exchanges in the Greater Bay Area.
