Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On August 29th, coinciding with the traditional Chinese Qixi Festival, a collective wedding ceremony was held in Heyu Township, Chengkou County, Chongqing. Sixteen couples from Chongqing, Sichuan, and Shaanxi provinces tied the knot in front of a large audience.
Early that morning, the newlyweds dressed up early, donned exquisite traditional Chinese wedding attire, and gracefully entered the wedding ceremony venue—a lawn in Liangshanmen Village, Heyu Township, Chengkou County.
The organizers prepared marriage certificates for the couples and led them in performing the three bows, the sharing of food, and the drinking of the nuptial cup. The entire ceremony was solemn and elegant, showcasing the "Chinese romance" of a traditional Chinese wedding.
At the end of the ceremony, officials from the civil affairs bureaus of the six counties (cities) of Chongqing, Sichuan, and Shaanxi jointly presented the newlyweds with their marriage certificates.
"I drove over 1,000 kilometers from Beijing to Chengkou specifically to attend this wedding. It's an unforgettable experience," said the groom, Du Hui. He is from Beijing, while his wife, Liu Wenli, is from Chengkou. Returning home with his wife this time allowed him to experience a different kind of romance, and he will work hard together to build a wonderful family.
Wu Xuefei, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy County Head of Chengkou County People's Government, stated in her speech that this event was not only a testament to love but also a vivid manifestation of the cooperative friendship among Chongqing, Sichuan, and Shaanxi provinces. She encouraged the newlyweds to uphold traditional virtues, protect their families with responsibility, and give back to society through hard work, and expressed her hope for deeper cooperation among the three regions in more areas in the future.
This event was jointly organized by the Civil Affairs Bureau of Chengkou County, Chongqing Municipality, the Civil Affairs Bureau of Wanyuan City, Sichuan Province, and the Civil Affairs Bureaus of Ziyang County, Zhenping County, Langao County, and Pingli County, Shaanxi Province. It is part of the "Spring Breeze Fills Chongqing" series of activities in Chengkou County, aiming to promote civilized wedding customs, carry forward traditional culture, showcase the spirit of the new era's youth through cross-regional cooperation, and promote new trends in marriage and childbirth.
