Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Phnom Penh's military police and Sen Sok district military police conducted a joint operation at 8:30 PM on August 19th, successfully rescuing a Chinese female victim and arresting a Cambodian man suspected of kidnapping.
That evening, after receiving intelligence, the military police immediately pursued a suspicious black unlicensed GAC vehicle along Street 1003 in Phnom Penh. The vehicle was driven by a Cambodian man, and a Chinese woman, suspected to be a kidnapped victim, was inside.
During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle accelerated and attempted to evade capture, crashing into a parked barbecue cart, causing property damage. When the suspect vehicle reached Street 1007, military police decisively opened fire, shooting out the vehicle's tires and forcing it to stop. The military police then quickly secured the scene, subdued the suspect on the spot, and successfully rescued the Chinese woman trapped inside the vehicle.
Currently, the Cambodian suspect has been transferred to military police headquarters for further investigation. The Phnom Penh gendarmerie has not yet released further details of the case, which is still under investigation.
