Former KMT MP shot dead in Thailand; killer arrested in Cambodia.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to a statement released by the Cambodian National Police General Commissariat on the evening of the 8th, former Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) member of parliament, Lim Kim A, was shot and killed in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, on the afternoon of the 7th of this month. The perpetrator fled to Cambodia but was eventually arrested by Cambodian police.

  It is reported that after the shooting, Thai police quickly launched an investigation, identifying the suspect as 42-year-old Thai national Ekkalak Pheanoi (a former Thai Navy soldier), who subsequently fled to the Cambodian border region. Based on information provided by Thai police, Cambodian police immediately launched a manhunt and arrested the suspect in Battambang on the afternoon of the 8th. He has been transferred to the Battambang Provincial Police Station for questioning.

  After completing the relevant legal procedures, Cambodian police will, at the request of Thai police, repatriate the suspect to Thailand. The case is still under further investigation.
