Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On April 29th, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross launched the 2026 National Humanitarian Month activities at the Gunma Sports Palace in Hanoi. Themed "80th Anniversary – A Journey of Love for the Community," the event utilizes a combined online and offline format, covering 34 provinces and cities nationwide, with branch venues in Tuyen Quang, Nghe An, and An Giang, attracting widespread participation from cadres, members, and volunteers across the country.

Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, stated that humanitarian assistance in the new era has become a crucial pillar of the modern social welfare system. It is necessary to strengthen its core role and enhance its professionalism, building a modern humanitarian ecosystem that links the state, enterprises, international organizations, and communities through digital transformation and innovative resource mobilization.

Do Thi Thu Thao, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Red Cross, revealed that over the past five years, the Humanitarian Action Month has raised over 3 trillion VND (approximately 789 million RMB), benefiting 6.6 million people. Future aid will focus on three pillars: building compassionate, safe, and sustainable communities; promoting the digitalization of humanitarian activities; and developing a humanitarian economy to support people's livelihoods.

Phra Thanathanvin, Deputy Representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Bangkok Regional Office, highly commended the coordination and support of the Vietnamese Party and Government and the Fatherland Front, and praised the Vietnam Red Cross for its positive contributions in resource mobilization, digital transformation, and international humanitarian cooperation.

At the launch ceremony, the organizing committee received donation pledges totaling VND 620 billion, of which enterprises and local Red Cross societies each donated VND 310 billion. Simultaneously, activities such as blood donation drives, first aid skills training, and a "charity market" were held, and 500 sets of relief supplies, each worth VND 1 million, were distributed to families in need.

It is reported that the 2026 Humanitarian Month has set several goals: to raise at least 500 billion VND in aid funds, support the sustainable livelihoods of 17,000 households, achieve 100% coverage of the "Festival of Compassion" in all communes nationwide, ensure that Red Cross societies at all levels implement at least one charitable project, and complete the collection of 80,000 units of voluntary blood donations by May.
