Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – To crack down on cross-border online fraud and improve public security, on March 22, the Phnom Penh Unified Command, in conjunction with multiple law enforcement departments, conducted a raid on a hotel on Street 1019 in Sangkat Uba Kheng, Sen Sok District. A well-organized cross-border telecom fraud den was successfully dismantled, with 49 suspects arrested on the spot and a large quantity of tools and items used in the crimes seized.
It is reported that after meticulous preliminary investigation, the police identified a mobile cross-border telecom fraud gang operating from the hotel. This gang was highly secretive and mobile, having just secretly moved from Tbong Khmum Province to Phnom Penh in an attempt to evade detection before its raid.

During the operation, law enforcement officers quickly secured the scene and arrested 49 suspects on the spot. Preliminary verification revealed that the suspects' nationalities spanned five countries: China, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Vietnam, demonstrating clear characteristics of cross-border operations. Meanwhile, police seized a large number of core tools used in the online fraud operation at the scene, including 60 all-in-one computers, 31 mainframe computers, 687 mobile phones, and 46 Malaysian SIM cards. The sheer quantity of equipment highlights the scale of the operation.
Currently, all suspects and seized evidence have been transferred to relevant departments for further investigation. The enforcement team is working diligently to apprehend fugitives and uncover the masterminds and upstream and downstream criminal networks behind the operation, aiming to achieve a complete crackdown on the entire chain.
Phnom Penh police reiterated their commitment to maintaining a "zero-tolerance" policy towards cross-border online fraud and other illegal activities, continuously strengthening inter-departmental and cross-border law enforcement cooperation, resolutely building a strong social security defense line, and fully safeguarding public order and the legitimate property security of citizens.
