Under the unified deployment of the Ministry of Interior, law enforcement agencies conducted large-scale raids nationwide, precisely targeting hidden criminal dens and achieving significant results.
From January 1 to March 14, 2026, law enforcement officers conducted simultaneous operations in 13 provinces and cities, including Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, and Kandal, successfully raiding 98 hidden locations suspected of being involved in illegal telecommunications and online fraud. This operation covered a wide area, focusing on areas with high rates of cross-border fraud, creating a strong deterrent.
Statistical data shows that a total of 5,771 people involved in the series of operations were detained according to law, involving more than 20 countries and regions. Among them, 3,438 are Chinese citizens, 1,166 are Vietnamese citizens, 400 are Cambodian citizens, and approximately 200 are Burmese citizens, forming the largest nationality groups.
Du Sokh emphasized that law enforcement agencies strictly adhere to the principle of "handling cases strictly according to law and regulations," classifying and dealing with those involved in the cases: 127 criminal suspects have been formally charged and transferred to provincial primary courts for judicial trial; over 4,400 people have been transferred to the General Department of Immigration for deportation and blacklisting; nearly 900 people are still under further investigation at police stations in various provinces and cities; and approximately 340 people have been allowed to return voluntarily after criticism, education, and admonishment.
The Cambodian Ministry of the Interior stated that it will continue to deepen international police cooperation, maintain a high-pressure crackdown on cross-border telecommunications and online fraud crimes, and effectively safeguard domestic social stability and regional security.
