Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – From December 1st to 5th, Altay Prefecture and Urumqi City simultaneously launched a special "snow holiday" for primary and secondary school students for the first time. Combining the two weekends before and after the holiday, students could enjoy a continuous 9-day break, fully immersing themselves in winter sports and deeply experiencing winter culture. Xinjiang's first "snow holiday" not only met students' needs for winter activities but also effectively ignited the local winter tourism boom, driving a continuous increase in visitor traffic to winter sports venues.

Visit data clearly demonstrates the driving effect of the "snow holiday." Statistics show that from November 29th to December 4th (covering the "snow holiday" and the periods before and after), the four major ski resorts in Altay Prefecture received over 150,000 visitors, a 92.69% increase compared to the same period in 2024, indicating a significant surge in winter sports tourism.

The enthusiasm of primary and secondary school students in Urumqi for participating in winter sports was also high. The Urumqi Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism (Urumqi Municipal Bureau of Cultural Relics) released data on December 6th, showing that during the "snow holiday" from December 1st to 5th, six ski resorts around Urumqi received approximately 61,000 primary and secondary school students, significantly increasing the participation rate of young people in winter sports.

This "snow holiday" not only provided a platform for primary and secondary school students to immerse themselves in winter activities, helping them experience the charm of winter sports and inherit winter culture, but also promoted the deep integration of winter tourism and the winter sports industry in Xinjiang. As an innovative practice based on the unique climate and winter resources of the region, the "snow holiday" will further activate the economic development momentum of "winter sports +", injecting new vitality into the high-quality development of Xinjiang's winter cultural tourism industry.
