Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Shanghai Wild Animal Park announced the names of its newborn panda twins on the 18th: the female (older sister) cub is named "Qianran," and the male (younger brother) cub is named "Qianyi."

On the same day, the park held a name unveiling ceremony for the panda twins. It is understood that the character "Ran" in "Qianran" represents nature, reflecting the hope that pandas, representing all living things, can coexist harmoniously with humans; the character "Yi" in "Qianyi" conveys the meaning of surpassing and excelling. To ensure the most suitable names for the panda twins, the park launched a six-day naming event.

The panda twins were born on August 22, 2025, and were 88 days old on the 18th. Currently, they live with their mother, "Qianjin," in a dedicated conservation area, receiving meticulous care and attention.

Sun Wenxiao, a panda keeper at the Shanghai Wild Animal Park, said that under the careful nurturing of their mother and the meticulous care of the conservation team, the twins, a boy and a girl, are maintaining good growth indicators. "Qianran" weighed 200 grams at birth, and "Qianyi" weighed 160 grams; both now weigh over 4 kilograms. Currently, the two panda cubs are "meeting" visitors via live video streaming. (End)
