
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) Recently, Customs at West Kowloon Station seized 24.3 grams of marijuana concealed in the shoes of an inbound passenger.
During the inspection of inbound passengers, Customs officers at West Kowloon Station discovered a passenger entering the customs-controlled area without declaring anything. Upon inspection, officers noticed a strong, unusual odor emanating from the individual. When questioned about basic information, the individual was evasive and repeatedly urged the officers to leave the scene quickly. Officers immediately escalated the inspection and found two packages of suspected marijuana plants, each packaged in a self-sealing bag, inside the passenger's shoes. The two packages of plants weighed a total of 24.3 grams and tested positive for marijuana on-site. Subsequent professional testing confirmed the presence of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in the plants. The case has been transferred to the Customs Anti-Smuggling Department for further investigation.
Customs reminds passengers that marijuana is listed in the "List of Narcotic Drugs (2013 Edition)" and is a controlled narcotic drug in my country. According to the "Regulations on the Administration of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances," the state implements control over the medicinal plants used to produce narcotic drugs, as well as narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. According to Article 347 of the "Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China," smuggling, trafficking, transporting, or manufacturing drugs, regardless of quantity, shall be subject to criminal liability and punishment.
