Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the afternoon of November 5th, local time, the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference adopted a resolution declaring March 21st of each year as "International Tai Chi Day." CCTV reporters learned that this initiative was proposed by China and received unanimous support from participating countries.

The resolution states that the proposed March 21st coincides with the Spring Equinox, highlighting the balance and harmony inherent in Tai Chi. As an ancient sport and intangible cultural heritage, Tai Chi plays a positive role in improving human health and well-being, promoting social inclusion and gender equality, fostering exchange and mutual learning, and contributing to peacebuilding.

Tai Chi was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2020. It is a traditional Chinese fitness method beneficial to physical and mental health. Its core concepts—balance, peace, harmonious coexistence, and mutual respect—are highly consistent with UNESCO's mission to "build a bulwark of peace in the minds of people."

The 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference was held from October 30 to November 13, where UNESCO will determine the main directions of its work for the next two years.
