According to reports from the scene, Sopo and Sokhonn were trapped on the upper floor of the house when the fire broke out, and the fire originated on the staircase, blocking their escape route.

Furthermore, the house was located in a relatively remote area, approximately 600 meters from the main road, and there was no direct road access by vehicle, which complicated the rescue efforts.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire was caused by a short circuit. Upon receiving the fire alarm, local authorities immediately mobilized resources to the scene for rescue and firefighting operations.
