
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com), Bangkok, March 11, 2026 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced that Bangkok has been named Asia's Best City for the third consecutive year in the 2026 DestinAsian Readers' Choice Awards, further solidifying its position as a top international tourist destination.
In this year's awards, Thailand's tourism industry achieved excellent results across all categories: in the Best Island category, Phuket and Koh Samui ranked fourth and fifth respectively; Suvarnabhumi Airport and Thai Airways International took third place as Best Airport and fourth as Best Airline, respectively.

The hotel industry performed exceptionally well: Capella Bangkok won first place as Best Boutique City Hotel, while 137 Pillars Suites and Residences Bangkok and The Siam Bangkok ranked third and seventh respectively; Banyan Tree Krabi and The Ritz-Carlton, Krabi Prey Bay were selected as Best Boutique Resorts, ranking seventh and eighth respectively.
Thapani Kiatpaipur, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, stated that Bangkok's three-peat is a significant honor for Thai tourism, highlighting the city's core appeal; the awards in various sectors reflect the overall strength of the Thai tourism industry, continuously driving the upgrading of the Thai tourism brand and the high-quality development of the industry.

The 2026 DestinAsian Readers' Choice Awards will be held annually, with over one million votes cast by 45,000 readers worldwide, covering 38 categories including airlines, airports, cities, and hotels. The awards ceremony was held on March 5th at the St. Regis Bali, coinciding with the magazine's 25th anniversary.
