On April 3, 2026, the Myanmar presidential election was officially held. The presidential election team, composed of all representatives of the Pyithu Hluttaw (House of Representatives), elected General Min Aung Hlaing, the Vice President previously nominated by the Pyithu Hluttaw, as President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar through legal procedures.
Following the announcement of the election results, numerous institutions and organizations, including the Zina Manaung Pagoda Gilding and Comprehensive Construction Committee of Thaketa Township, the Naypyidaw Micro- and Small-Scale Entrepreneurs Association, the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and all representatives of the Yangon Region Parliament, and the Yangon Region Sports and Youth Affairs Support Committee, issued congratulatory statements.
The organizations, in their statement, explicitly congratulated General Min Aung Hlaing on his election as President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (the original text incorrectly stated "President of the Union Parliament," which has been corrected), wishing him good health and peace of mind, and hoping he could fulfill his presidential duties with full enthusiasm and dedication, effectively safeguarding the fundamental interests of the nation, the people, and religions.
The statement also mentioned its expectation that under General Min Aung Hlaing's leadership, Myanmar's economy would achieve steady development, especially in helping micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises achieve greater progress and breakthroughs.
